Before Midnight is sort of a sequel to Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, it follows Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) over the course of one day. It’s been nine years since we last saw them, and we meet them this time in their early 40’s on holidays in southern Greece. Things have gotten quite grown-up since the heady days of young romance which is bound to happen with a long-term relationship and the addition of some kids.
Before Midnight is a wonderful third part of this story of love and life, as it is as honest as it is romantic. The film garned amazing reviews after screening at the Sundace Film Festival as well as the Berlin Film Festival. Indiewire fell in love with it awarding it with an ‘A+’!
